“Sweet LA” by The West Texas Exiles

West Texas Exiles came together in Austin, bonded by their shared West Texas roots and love of music. The band features a triple-threat of songwriters in Marco Gutierrez (co-founder of the Dirty River Boys), Daniel Davis, and Colin Gilmore (son of legendary Texas troubadour Jimmie Dale Gilmore), backed by seasoned bassist/producer Eric Harrison and drummer Trinidad Leal. Their 2023 debut EP Volume 1 showcased their wide-ranging Americana-centered sound, leading to their first full-length album 8000 Days, which was released in 2024. The group has performed at major venues including SXSW, Willie Nelson's Luck Reunion, Nashville's Americanafest, and San Francisco's Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival, while maintaining a weekly residency at Austin's Continental Club.
