“Beggar's Union” by Strawberry Flats

Hailing from Austin, Texas, Strawberry Flats is a homegrown band born from the Central Texas Bluegrass community. Founding members Hannah (Mississippi Delta native) and Tony (raised in Green Bay, Wisconsin) bonded over a shared love of coffee and roots music in 2021. The band now includes fellow Wisconsinite Kyle Smith on mandolin, native Texan Noah Griffin on banjo, and Lenny Nichols on upright bass. They blend bluegrass, classic country, and a touch of punk, described as darling and old-timey. Their debut EP Home Cookin' (2022) captures their raw, honest spirit with original songs exploring love, loss, and the roots music tradition.
