Louisiana Surf Department

Louisiana Surf Department is a swampadelic-country-rock band founded January 1, 2024 in Austin, Texas. On lead vocals and electric guitar, John Core carries the songs and vision of the band. Brian Bounds on drums and backup vocals met John in Sedona, Arizona in 2020 and reconnected in Louisiana before joining forces. James T. Carter rounds out the trio on bass guitar and backing vocals. The band has quickly become a fixture in the Austin music scene, releasing their first project "THANK YOUUU" in 2025 and have since released a full length live album “Acoustic at Saxon Pub”, as well as “The Greens, Vol. 1”, their take on several American blues and bluegrass standards.
