“Pinto Pony” by Gus Clark

For over seven years, Gus Clark has fronted his band The Least Of His Problems as an accomplished vocalist, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. Originally from Washington state, Clark left home at 18 to travel across the country by freight train and hitchhike, busking on streets with mandolin in hand. He eventually settled in the Hill Country of Texas, where he developed his signature sound blending 1950s-60s honky-tonk and classic country with influences from Tex-Mex, Western swing, pre-WWII blues, zydeco, and R&B. With releases including the albums A Bit of Country Music (2018) and Some Of My Songs (2022), plus singles like Cheap Shots (2024) and Winner (2025), Clark delivers barn-burners, dance tunes, heartbreak ballads, and originals with sincerity and emotive richness. He performs regularly at Hill Country venues and has shared stages with Dale Watson, Charlie Crockett, Pokey LaFarge, and other Americana greats.
