“It's The Rain” by Dustin Dale Gaspard

A full-time touring artist and culture ambassador for Louisiana, Dustin Dale Gaspard grew up in the rural Vermilion Parish community of Cow Island and moved to Abbeville to be closer to family. After over a decade of performing across North America, he released his debut album Hoping Heaven Got a Kitchen in 2022, a deeply personal tribute to his grandparents. His bilingual approach and distinctive swamp-pop sound—which he describes as rhythm-and-blues, New Orleans-filled music mixed with country and traditional Cajun styles—gained national recognition when he earned a four-chair turn on NBC's The Voice in 2025. His recent work includes the conceptual bilingual folk album Avec Le Courant (2024), which tells the story of his Acadian ancestors.
