“Cold Dark Water and Blackjack Mud” by Bubba Bellin

Originally from Greenville, South Carolina, Bubba Bellin moved to Texas for college and developed his signature Texas Funktry style, combining funk, soul, and traditional country influences. Before pursuing music full-time, he gigged as a slide guitar sideman in dive bars and festivals across Texas. His 2024 album Western Soul, released November 8 on Bolo Tie Records, marks a masterful ode to 90s country with standout tracks including Driving You to Denver and Queen of the Suburbs (Karen's Song). The album showcases his ability to revive classic country traditions while bringing his own innovative twist to the genre.
