Formed around 2014 in Lee County, Alabama, B.B. Palmer emerged as a cosmic country outfit honing a sound steeped in American country music traditions. Fronted by Bernard Breitung, the band combines classic honky-tonk with sitar and Indian classical elements, creating what they term existential country music. Their 2016 B.B. Palmer EP marked their debut release, followed by the full-length album Lee County's Finest in 2019. The Krishna Country Gold EP, released in 2022, showcased Breitung's deeper exploration of Indian music and Hindu philosophy, blending eastern instrumentation with country roots. Recent 2026 releases include singles Fantasies, War Cry, Maggie, Blue Moon, Rage Of The Master, and Alabama Samurai, continuing their experimental approach to the genre.
